John J. Fumero has over 30 years of experience in the areas of environmental, water, land use, administrative and governmental law. Mr. Fumero, formerly General Counsel of the South Florida Water Management District, provides strategic counsel to landowners, developers, industry, agriculture, utilities and local governments throughout Florida. He represents both private and public sector clients before local, state and federal agencies and courts. He has extensive experience in all aspects of state and federal environmental/water permitting, public/private partnerships for infrastructure, complex environmental and land development permitting, as well as related federal, state, and administrative litigation.

Named as one of Florida Trend’s Legal Elite, Mr. Fumero is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating an attorney can earn from his or her peers. He is Board certified as a specialist in State and Federal Government and Administrative Practice by The Florida Bar. Board certification recognizes specialized knowledge, skills and proficiency in state and federal governmental and administrative law. He is also a Florida Supreme Court-certified mediator and holds certification in Environmental Negotiation and Policy from Harvard Law School.
