Mr. Safriet is a Partner with the law firm of Holtzman Vogel Baran Torchinsky & Josefiak based in their Tallahassee, Florida office. After obtaining a BS degree in aquaculture, fisheries and wildlife biology from Clemson University, he obtained his law degree from the University of South Carolina law school.   His practice focuses on private property rights, including Bert J. Harris Jr., Private Property Rights Protection Act claims, land use, growth management, Coastal issues, natural resources, commercial litigation and appeals.  He represents clients in administrative, civil, and federal forums at the trial and appellate levels.  He argued the seminal judicial takings case entitled Stop the Beach Renourishment v. Florida Department of Environmental Protection, No. 08-1151 before the United States Supreme Court in December 2009 on behalf of property owners.
