Dr. Tamzen Macbeth is Senior Vice President and Remediation Practice Leader for CDM Smith with 22 years of experience, including seven years working with PFAS. She has been the senior engineering lead for complex remediation programs for federal, state, and private clients.  She understands the science of PFAS sampling and analysis, fate, and transport and treatment in multiple media, including wastewater, surface water, sediments, groundwater, soils, and biosolids. She leads multi-disciplinary project teams, executing simple to complex investigation programs to understand site conditions, evaluate unacceptable impacts, and select practical remedial actions. Tamzen has been involved in PFAS investigation topics, such as sampling different media, using standard and innovative approaches, and ensuring sampling and analytical methods are commensurate with the project data quality objectives. She has successfully transferred the knowledge gained in research and development to engineering practice.
