THE WETLANDSBANK COMPANY (TWC) is one of the nation’s most respected and successful mitigation bankers. TWC developed its wetland bank in Pembroke Pines, FL; the first credit transfers ever authorized by the Army Corps of Engineers. TWC has completed the transfer of the 2,778-acre Panther Island Mitigation Bank in Naples, FL to the Audubon of Florida’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, as the long term managers and is currently restoring an additional 1,841 acres that has been added to the existing bank project. Panther Island’s commitment to the environment has earned national and international recognition. Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, including the Panther Island Mitigation Bank, was named a Ramsar Wetland of International Significance, one of only 26 in the United States. It was the first time ever that a mitigation bank has received this honor. During 2015 TWC added Corkscrew Regional Mitigation Bank to its portfolio thus furthering its commitment to the Southwest Florida market. TWC has completed the first phase of construction on Blackwater Creek Mitigation Bank north of Orlando in the Wekiva Basin. TWC has expanded into Georgia with the Legacy Farms Stream Bank south of Atlanta. TWC has expanded into Mississippi by partnering with founders of Delta Mitigation Bank. TWC seeks partnerships with public or private entities to design, permit, develop, market, and operate mitigation banks, and also sells mitigation credits on behalf of entities, such as Broxton Rocks Mitigation Bank a stream and wetland bank also in Georgia and Panther Passage Conservation Bank, a Panther Habitat bank in Hendry County, Florida.
