I am a coastal geologist with more than 25 years of experience studying coastal evolution and coastal change processes in a variety of geomorphic settings. My research is focused on coastal hazards and vulnerability assessments, of both human-modified and natural coastal systems, on a variety of time scales from storms to multiple decades. I have extensive experience overseeing and managing large projects and coordinating across diverse groups of stakeholders and partners. I also hold a research professorship the the University of South Florida St Petersburg campus, College of Marine Science, where she is the Chair of the Florida Coastal Mapping Program Science and Technical Advisory Council. Her current research focuses on coastal vulnerability and sea-level rise adaptation, developing new tools and approaches to evolve the science of coastal climate risk and resilience. She has authored over 80 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, and technical reports, and served as a subject matter expert on coastal change hazards to local, state, and federal agencies, and international groups.
